Engaged!!

Hey Everyone!
By now I know most of you have heard the exciting news, but I thought if I posted our short little story here, I wouldn't have to tell it 6 million more times, and you would all be in the know :)

SO!
10/13/09: Our 6 year anniversary!

Cammer came home from work and said "Is it time for presents?!"
Becky: I love presents!!
C: ok sit on the couch-ill be right back

I was so nervous and excited! I think it's one of the only times ever I have been nervous around Camm..! I can't keep a stinkin' secret about gifts, so I had already given Camm the anniversary gifts I got him about a week ago (light kit for his studio and casio ladies casual watch, of course!)
ok, so like 4 minutes later he came back in the living room and on the walk in he said:
C: close your eyes!
B: I'm nervous! can I cheat?
C: No. Put out your hands...ok, one of two.
B: What the!! mac book?!

I was confused and excited and totally surprised...and let's be honest, a little sad it wasnt a ring! But it's so extravagant! I felt like a crazy person:)
After a few minutes though...
C: Ready for part 2?
B: Yes!
C: Close your eyes!
B: Dang!
C: Put out your hand...

...and then he puts a GIANT hilarious fake diamond ring in my paw...and we both laugh so hard...I was confused, again, thinking what the heck...is my ring inside this thing?! It weighs a pound! Then he pulled my real ring out and said

C: Whattya say? Will ya marry me?
B: YES! *squeal!*

My engagment ring is beautiful and hand carved out of maple and rosewood, but it's too big because I told Camm the wrong size. Ugh. Totally my fault, so that's getting fixed (sorry Cammer!) I kept it together for the next few minutes and then started crying.

B: Who the heck gets to marry their bestfriend?!
C: We do!

True story. We called our parents and went and had celebratory Mexican food and margaritas for dinner! Although my phone got dropped in a margarita while someone, who shall remain nameless, was talking to Thunder, it was perfect! Thanks to Beth and Kevin who came and picked up us to DD...!

Needless to say, I feel pretty lucky!! We're going to Devil's Lake this weekend to celebrate, and my friends at work have already started planning an engagement party for us! YAY!!

Thanks for being excited for us! It truly means so much!
Love you all,
bec

I have been BUSY! again!

The most exciting news first! I'm gonna be Aunt B!! I could not possibly be more excited! Congratulations Scott and Annie!!

Mark, Scottie and Judy also celebrated some birthdays! Which means, they got some homemade goodies from Bec. Giant Squid shirt for Mark:
Heart shirt for Scottie...there's one on the back too. I was proud of myself, I altered this shirt before I sewed hearts on it, and it fit! I'm learning...
This one is a bit flamboyant, but it's awesome. He'll probably never wear it, but, for the record, it does not make it less awesome!
detail. I just thought that ivy was Scott's spirit animal I guess...
Mark left this at my place :) i sent it back with some love.
For Judy the Beauty. CA.
For another friend:
For the up and coming Tate Cleaver Winkelhake...! Beth and I are going to visit him in Dithie's belly this weekend..!

This is what happens when work buys you drinks and takes you to the Cubs game...!
Becky and Michael. (siblings from another mother) ((SFAM))
and with Lisa, also a (SFAM)
Julia! and Michael's mouth...classy
Erica and Jon got married! This was part of our gift:
Camm designed a monogram for them, and I stitched away.

Beautiful Bride:
I loved these centerpieces: I thought you would appreciate. so interesting!
Last wedding of the year...! I think? :)

Thunder, Camm, Josie, Julia and the Emmys!

Welcome! So many updates! Thunder and Robina came for a super fun visit. It was filled with ridiculous adventures, some sight-seeing and plenty of beer. Here we are at the Bean!

Thunder in Millenium Park. I wonder why this is underlined?
This is what happens when I'm tired...or when I dont get what I want...?
The couples!
The next weekend we went to Bloomington, and from there to Michigan to see the Rowlands. I made this for Lucy, because she became a big sister since we saw her last! and started kindergarten!
Camm's show opened at IWU, and Ma and Dad drove down for the evenings events. Here is Cammer in the gallery, chatting with one of his old professors.
Shot of the gallery...Hey! there's Mom and Dad! thanks for coming!
Next day we went out for some quality time with Rachel and Josie! She is the chubbiest wad of cuteness!! check out this exemplary wrist roll...i love it!
Baby J!
She loved Cammer.
Best Latte EvAR! i miss the Coffeehound.
At the Waiting Room, visiting Jared. Camm and Rachel look a little bit like the same person...with one continuing piece of hair :) maybe they're long lost siblings? or long time friendship makes people look alike?
This big party happened a little bit on accident...and was so FUN! Julia turned 31!
oops! we showed up in uniform...!
Happy Bday Jules!
and then we went to Los Angeles! here was the view from our hotel room...thats the ocean that looks gray in the background. it was overcast most of the time we were there :/
ouch. the cocktail events of the evening before the Emmys destroyed Camm and I both. This pineapple sidecar blackberry martini was almost the death of me...on Saturday morning. DK folks drink like champs...and are super fun to hang out with! Camm works with these guys, but they are in the NY and Seattle offices.
Gettin' ready!
Waiting for the HBO limos to come take us away! Who is this smart dressed couple...could it be the same ones a few pictures up in the same plaid shirts?!
we had about 20 people, and were about a 40 minute drive from the Nokia Theater. everywhere takes forever to get to in LA i guess. im sure youre shocked. everyone looked AWESOME!!
heh...here we are on the red carpet...where you can see nothing red, and no carpet. just trust me i guess :)
DK folks, and that whole like in the background is paparazzi. we were heading to the main drag of the red carpet. i walked most of the way down next to Seth MacFarlane...the creator and voices of the Family Guy. he's a bajillionaire.
After I bumped into Tina Fey, and we sat in the crowd for a few hours, it was time the Outstanding Main Titles. Sharon Osbourne presented. Kathy Griffin was the host of the Schemmys :) i mean, the 61st Annual Primetime Creative Arts Emmys.
We took a break after the DK folks did not win. we got the WORST (and most expensive) soft pretzels ever, saw a ton of celebritites, and took some funny pictures in front of trash. lookin classy LA!
After the awards there was a big, super fancy ball around the corner. i think i may have asked someone famous to take this picture. oops. i didnt know...!
this was exciting for us nerdy types...Ira Glass! host of one of our favorite radio shows, This American Life...the only famous person we posed with :)
Here are a few snaps of the ball. it was pretty crazy....i think were about 1000 people there, maybe 1500. all these lights changed colors, and there was a meal served, 10 bars with never ending cocktails, and 2 rotating bands. neat!
i tried to get a snap of as much of the room as i could.
the end of the night! i cant believe i wore my heels for the whole 12 hours! my friend Kate (thanks Kate! youre awesome!) made my dress, and i totally felt like a million bucks. at least 10 people stopped me throughout the night to compliment my dress...at the Emmys! where everyone looks awesome!
The next morning we got up really early and walked around Santa Monica because all our other time was scheduled. the weather was awesome, and the strip near our hotel was fun to stroll around. camm made some dinosaur friends.
...and then i copied.
hope you feel updated! miss you and love you!
xoxo

Awesome!
Heres the K in the action.
Oh, and i found a picture of this recently i never photographed it, i thought you might like to see it. :) a year already!? gosh.
miss you! ps. this post is totally scatterbrained bc its early in the mornin!
